Ever found yourself halfway through eating before you even noticed?

The Reset Method is an 8-week live programme that helps women build more space between binge urges and automatic eating.

Does this sound familiar?

You weren’t planning to eat.

Dinner was done.

You’d told yourself tonight would be different.

Then half an hour later, you find yourself standing at the kitchen cupboard, eating cereal straight from the box, grabbing toast, biscuits, or whatever is quickest and easiest.

Sometimes there’s an obvious trigger (a difficult conversation, a stressful day, bad news). Often there’s nothing you can point to at all.

Either way, there you are.

And somewhere in the middle of it, a part of you wakes up and thinks, What am I doing? How did I get here?

It can feel like the decision happened without you.

Like something took over while the part of you that knows better, that genuinely wanted a different evening, just went offline.

That loss of awareness is frightening. Frustrating. Sometimes deeply defeating.

Almost as though the decision happened somewhere before you were part of it.

You may have read the books, listened to podcasts, done therapy, spent years trying to make sense of it.

And still find yourself halfway through eating, wondering how you got there so fast.

Because the real problem often isn’t a lack of knowledge.

My story

I remember, when I was in recovery,  I was in a good spell, I was eating regularly and feeling pretty steady

My mum visited, which was always a source of stress, but then she said something to me (I honestly can’t remember what it was), but within moments, I was walking towards the cupboard.

I knew I just needed to eat something.

Because food had become where I went when something felt overwhelming. Stress, hurt, frustration, loneliness.

But that evening, I paused.

Long enough to notice what was happening in my body.

My breathing was shallow. My chest felt tight. My hands were clenched.

Until then, I’d spent a lot of time thinking binge eating was mainly about food. What I’d eaten, whether I’d restricted, whether I’d somehow triggered it.

But standing there, I realised the eating wasn’t where the pattern began.

That old familiar pull had kicked in before I’d properly noticed it.

That changed how I understood binge eating.

This is part of what makes binge eating so hard to understand.

The problem is that these habit patterns often begin before conscious awareness fully catches up.

By the time you properly notice what’s happening, you may already be reaching for food.

That’s what made such a difference for me.

I stopped focusing only on the binge itself and started paying attention to what happened in the minutes beforehand.

That’s the work inside this program.

Learning how to notice those early signs, understand what your body is doing, and create enough space to make a different choice.

The Reset Method is an 8-week live programme for women who want more space between the urge and the action.

If binge eating or emotional eating has become something that feels automatic, this work is about helping you interrupt that pattern.

Over the eight weeks, I’ll teach you practical tools I’ve used for more than a decade in one-to-one work with women struggling with binge eating, emotional eating, anxiety and overwhelm.

Its very hands on and immersive.
It’s about building skills you can actually use to interrupt the binge urges.

That might mean:

  • noticing activation earlier
  • calming your body faster after stress
  • creating more pause before acting on an urge
  • recovering more quickly after a difficult moment
  • feeling less frightened by the urge itself

By the end of the eight weeks, the goal is simple.

  • You know what helps your body.
  • You feel less overtaken by urges.
  • You feel more able to respond differently when old patterns show up

What the experience looks like

We’ll meet live on Zoom each week for 90 minutes.

There’ll be some teaching to help you understand what’s happening, but most of the session is about actually practising tools you can use when urges hit.

That might include breathwork, grounding, body awareness, simple movement, urge surfing, and other ways to work with stress and automatic eating patterns.

You don’t need to be fit or flexible. A chair or sofa is absolutely fine.

There’s space to ask questions, talk through what came up during the week, and be alongside women who understand what this is like.

If you miss a session, you’ll get the recording.

Why is this a live course?

Because this kind of work is hard to learn from a PDF or a course you half-watch while doing something else.

You can read about breathing or grounding tools and think, that makes sense.

But when the urge hits on a random Tuesday night, that knowledge can disappear fast.

Doing this live is different.

You actually practise the tools, notice what happens in your body, and figure out what works for you.

This kind of learning happens through experience, not just explanation

Once you’ve felt yourself shift, even slightly, from overwhelmed to steadier, it becomes much easier to reach for that in real life.

And being around other women, doing this together, who understand what this feels like can be a real relief.

Meet Ali Kerr

I’m Ali, and if you’ve been reading my emails for a while, we may already know each other a little.

I’m the best-selling author of The Binge Code and The Bulimia Help Method, but this work is personal to me because I’ve lived it too.

The work I teach grew out of my own recovery, more than a decade of working one-to-one with women, and extensive training in yoga, trauma-informed practice, and nervous system work.

This is the most developed version of that work, and the version I wish I’d had myself.

The 8-week journey

Week 3: Creating space

Breathing, grounding, and practical tools for interrupting the rush toward food.

Where the food work and body work come together, and urges start making more sense.

Week 6: After a binge

How to recover faster, learn from what happened, and avoid the shame spiral.

Week 7: Rest and recovery

Practical tools for calming an exhausted, overstimulated system.

Week 8: Your personal toolkit

Pulling everything together so you leave knowing what works for your body.

It was the first time that had ever happened

“The urge hit on my commute home from work and I could feel almost straight away that something was happening in my body. My belly felt tight, my chest and upper back were tense, and my breathing had sped up.

I knew I wasn’t actually hungry, I just really wanted to feel different somehow.

Normally I would have gone straight into a binge without really noticing what was happening, but because of our last call I stopped and checked in with myself.

I realised my jaw was tight, I was frowning, and my hands were clenched into fists without me even being aware of it.

I used the Reset tools you’d shown me. The urge was still there, and I did start eating, but I stayed aware in a way I never normally do.

Instead of disappearing into that usual trance, I could actually notice what was happening (the excitement, the panic, the thoughts rushing through).

Somehow that gave me enough space to ground myself, step away, and stop the binge.

I genuinely couldn’t believe it because it was the first time that had ever happened.” – Georgina

FAQ's

Will this help in the middle of an urge?

Yes, this programme focuses on exactly those moments where you currently feel overtaken.

It’s to help you recognise what’s happening sooner, create more space, and build tools you can actually use when the urge shows up.

What if I binge during the programme?

Completely normal. This is a learning process.

I already know a lot about binge eating. Is this still relevant?

Yes, very possibly. If you already understand binge eating but still find yourself getting swept up when the urge hits, this work is about helping your nervous system practise a different response so pause and choice feel more available in the moment, not just in theory.

What if I can’t make a live session?

Recordings are sent afterwards, so you won’t miss the content.

That said, the live sessions are where the real practice happens, so joining live whenever you can is ideal.

I’m on a GLP-1. Does this still apply?

Yes. Increasingly, the women coming to me are. The medication has quieted the noise, and underneath the quiet they’ve found a body that still doesn’t feel safe. This work sits at that underneath layer.

Is this therapy?

No. If you have a therapist, keep them. This sits alongside therapy, and they do different things.

Still uncertain?
